Kirk has a passion for visual storytelling, plain and simple. Using all the latest creative tools available he has made a name for himself as one of Canada's premiere cinematographers having won 5 Canadian Society of Cinematography Awards and 8 RTDNA Awards, including a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Use of Video. He is the only person in Canada to win Best Creative Use of Video (Network) Award from the RTDNA 4 years in a row. He has also brought home a Gemini Award all in the last 6 years.
Kirk has worked in news shops from coast to coast and for every major commercial news outlet in Canada and has pioneered new shooting techniques with Nikon DSLR's for Global Television's Documentary News Program, "16x9".
